From Blurred Vision: “Drunk Off Your Love” And “Smoking Ashes”

Have you ever been in love with someone so much that it’s not uplifting, but toxic? Not toxic because the relationship is going so well, but toxic because you know with everything in you that you need to get away from that person. That’s not love when somebody brings you down. Know the difference and don’t be a drunken fool in the name of love.

So maybe you’ve never been in love before, but you’re stuck on yourself to the point that you feel you can do no wrong. Everybody loves you, looks up to you, and thinks you’re the best thing since sliced bread…or so you think. Sometimes in life, we have the tendency to think we’re blazing hot and no one can touch us. But is that really the impression we want to give to people? Are we honestly that focused on ourselves that no one else matters?

Check out two poems from my book, Blurred Vision, “Drunk Off Your Love” and “Smoking Ashes”. I’m sure you’ll be able to relate in some way to both poems. Leave a comment and let me know what you think of them. And don’t forget, you can purchase Blurred Vision online today for only $12.95 + shipping and handling!!!
