Okay, so I haven’t had a chance to make a post in a while. Things have been pretty busy with work, trying to promote my book “Blurred Vision” (get your copy today on this site!) and bouncing back from a cold two weeks ago, that came back briefly last week (aaarrgggghhhhhhh)! But now that’s over with and I’m pretty much back to normal now. We all know how colds can slow us down from those things we need to get done, especially during this time of year.
So I decided to share one of my get well secrets with everyone. The “Hot Tottie”. For those that may be guessing what a “hot tottie” is, it’s not the Usher song with Jay Z that was released last year. That won’t do anything but make you bob your head for a few minutes and temporarily distract yourself from how bad you feel. But here’s how you can really get rid of that nagging cough and stuffy nose.
What You Will Need
2 Cough Drops (preferably name brand Halls or Ricola…these seem to work the best for me)
3 cups of water
1 Single Serve Green Tea Bag (I say green tea because it is one of the more healthy versions of tea, but whatever kind you decide is fine)
Half of a Lemon
Brown Liquor (optional)
How To Make It
- Boil 3 cups of water in small pot for 5 minutes
- Add half of lemon (with rind still on). Continue to boil water.
- Add in 2 cough drops and continue to boil
- Add in honey (to your taste) once the cough drops have fully dissolved
- Add in 1 single serve tea bag and boil for another 5 minutes.
- Pour in large mug (add more honey or sugar if needed) and enjoy!
***If using brown liquor (I recommend Honey Jack Daniels), limit to one shot and boil for a couple of minutes after you have added your tea bag in***
You should have enough for 2 medium servings or 1 large servings. Guaranteed to taste so good that you’ll even want it when you’re NOT sick!
