Lemonade

That cool, quenching, sensational tang…

I make haste to have these sweet juices

Dripping down my face,

Embracing the aftertaste,

Earthquake and aftershock of you

I am an intricate detail

In this simple amalgamation

But you are the catalyst to

Jump start the sparks of

These independently heightened fireworks

Dissipating with the bitterness

Of a lemon drop

On an unhealed wound

The salve of you

Citrus, miss this when you’re away

This chilled refreshment

Is only concocted

Whenever you’re in the mix

Summer bliss, sun kissed warmth

Glass sweats, grip gets looser

But we still hold on

Never letting go of this euphoria

And when the ice melts

I help the diluted taste

Of these sweet juices

Dripping down my face

By adding more of you
